Not one season, every season: daily sun protection

Sun protection is often associated with summer holidays. Yet UV rays reach us every day of the year — on cloudy days, in winter and even through windows.
UVA and UVB
UVB rays are mostly responsible for sunburn. UVA rays reach deeper into the skin and are present all year round; they play a major role in photoaging, the visible signs of time caused by sun exposure. A good daily sunscreen should offer protection against both.
Five simple rules
- Apply sunscreen as the last step of your morning routine, every day.
- Use enough — around two finger-lengths for the face and neck.
- Reapply every two hours when outdoors, and after swimming or sweating.
- Do not forget the ears, neck and backs of the hands.
- Combine with shade, a hat and sunglasses during the strongest hours.
